What “ATS-safe” actually means here

An ATS-safe template keeps your résumé in one readable text flow: a single column, standard section headings, no text hidden in tables or graphics. That's what a parser can follow. A designed template puts columns and rules to work for a human reader — better for a portfolio review or a small studio, riskier for a big company's online portal. We label them rather than calling everything “ATS-optimised”, because both are useful and only one is safe to guess with.
